Conference to Host
Industry Experts for Senior Level Discussion on Application Innovation
Seattle, Washington, May 23, 2006
- The Game Initiative, the leading producer of conferences for
professionals in the computer and video game industry, today announced
the conference keynotes for the fourth annual Mobile Game Conference,
taking place July 13-14, 2006, in Seattle, Washington. Keynotes will be
presented by Chris Early, Studio Manager for Microsoft Casual Games
Group and Mitch Lasky, Senior Vice President of EA Mobile. Speakers from
major operators, leading developers, and top publishers will join Mr.
Early and Mr. Lasky to discuss innovations driving the tremendous growth
of the mobile game market.
"The Mobile Game Conference does things a bit differently. To create a
context for the conference content, we divide up the main parts of our
two days into three themes: Design, Construction and Potential," said
Christopher V. Sherman, Executive Director of The Game Initiative. "Each
of these themes will be addressed in some way by a keynote speaker, and
then discussed in greater detail by a series of panelists, roundtables
and Speak Out sessions. The Mobile Game Conference is the must-attend
event for professionals focused on mobile game development."
Chris Early, studio manager for Microsoft Casual Games, will deliver the
Mobile Game Conference keynote address on day one. A gaming industry
veteran, Chris leads Microsoft's Casual Games in expanding Microsoft's
casual gaming audience and game experiences across multiple platforms.
Microsoft's approach to casual gaming reaches beyond the traditional
online segment, tapping into diverse markets that span MSN Games, MSN
Messenger, MSN Games for Mobile and Xbox Live Arcade. Prior to joining
Microsoft, Chris served as chief operating officer of GameSpy and
executive vice president and general manager of Mplayer. Chris holds a
BA in Economics and International Management from Claremont Mens
College.
Mitch Lasky, will deliver the keynote address on day two. As Senior Vice
President of EA Mobile, Mitch Lasky oversees global operations for the
world's leading wireless entertainment publisher. Prior to this, Lasky
served as chairman and CEO of JAMDAT Mobile bringing that company public
in 2004 in what was touted as one of the most successful IPO's of the
year. Under Lasky's leadership, JAMDAT became the No. 1 global publisher
of mobile games. One year later, in December 2005 Lasky orchestrated the
buyout of JAMDAT by EA for $680 million - making EA Mobile the
international powerhouse in wireless entertainment publishing. Lasky now
runs EA Mobile on a global scale and has quickly integrated the talents
and resources of both companies into a world-class mobile entertainment
business operating in over 40 countries. Lasky graduated from Harvard
College magna cum laude with a BA in History & Literature, and earned a
JD from University of Virginia School of Law.
