The Austin Game Initiative working in cooperation with the Academy
of Machinima Arts and Sciences announced the 13 Machinima Films to
be showcased at the Austin Game Conference Sept 11-12 in Austin,
Texas - http://www.GameConference.com. Machinima is filmmaking
within a real-time, 3D virtual environment. The Machinima Theater is
sponsored by NVIDIA Corporation and VxO Networks, Inc.
Machinima is the convergence of
filmmaking, animation and game development. By combining the
techniques of filmmaking, the flexibility of animation production
and the technology of real-time 3D game engines, Machinima makes for
a very cost- and time-efficient way to produce films.
The Austin Game Conference is
focused on the hottest, high-growth segments in the $11 billion
global computer and video game market. In addition to a Machinima
Theater the conference boasts 65 speakers in 48 sessions and 6
tracks; a Technology Pavilion showcasing the latest tools,
technologies, products and services, plus LivePitch, an exclusive
opportunity for independent developers to demo their games to
leading publishers.

About the Academy of Machinima
Arts & Sciences
Headquartered in New York,
the non-profit organization was co-founded in 2002 by its Executive
Director, Paul Marino, an Emmy Award-winning animator. Marino’s
Machinima work with the ILL Clan has received much recognition,
including top honors at Showtime Networks’ 2001 Alternative Media
Festival. The organization was founded in March of 2002 by Marino
and several leading members of the Machinima community. It is the
Academy’s goal to make the both the public and trade aware of
Machinima as well as bring support & credibility to independent
